Athena McLash is an experienced solicitor whose practice focuses on wills and estates, family law, real estate, and corporate and commercial matters. She advises individuals, families, and business owners on a wide range of legal issues, with a particular emphasis on estate planning and administration, property transactions, and business matters.

Athena is known for her practical, strategic approach to legal problem-solving and her ability to guide clients through complex matters with clarity and confidence. She regularly assists clients with estate planning, probate and estate administration, residential and commercial real estate transactions, corporate structuring, and general business matters. Athena also maintains an active family law practice, assisting clients with cohabitation agreements, separation agreements, property division, and negotiated resolutions to family disputes.

Prior to joining Reed Pope Law Corporation, Athena operated her own successful practice on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast. In 2016 she founded McLash Law, building a thriving, award-winning law firm serving individuals, families, and local businesses throughout the region. In 2019, she expanded her dispute resolution services by becoming a Certified Family Law Mediator.

Athena earned her Bachelor of Arts (Joint Major in Criminology and Psychology) from Simon Fraser University in 2001 and her Bachelor of Laws with Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 2004. Following law school, she clerked with the Court of Queen’s Bench for Saskatchewan in Regina, gaining valuable experience working closely with the judiciary before entering private practice. She was called to the Law Society of Saskatchewan in 2005 and the Law Society of British Columbia in 2006.

Athena moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2005, where she built a successful legal practice while raising three children with her spouse. She has recently relocated to Vancouver Island with her family and is pleased to continue serving clients as part of the team at Reed Pope.

Outside the office, Athena enjoys spending time with her family and taking advantage of the many activities that Vancouver Island offers.
