Greg Atkins

Principal

Greg Atkins is the principal of Reed Pope. He leads the firm’s business law and real estate practices, advising clients across a wide range of corporate, commercial, and development matters throughout British Columbia.

Greg works closely with developers, business owners, and lenders on complex, high-value transactions. His practice focuses on:

• Real estate development, including acquisition, assembly, entitlements, development, subdivision, marketing and sale
• Commercial financing, acting for both borrowers and lenders
• Business transactions, including asset and share purchases and sales
• Commercial leasing for landlords and tenants
• General corporate and commercial matters

Greg is known for his practical, direct approach. He focuses on moving transactions forward efficiently, identifying risk early, and providing clear, actionable advice that clients can rely on. As firm leader, he is also closely involved in strategic matters and long-term relationships with key clients and industry participants.

Greg earned his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba in 2005. Before entering the legal profession, he worked in professional hockey with the Edmonton Oilers and Manitoba Moose. He later attended the University of Alberta Faculty of Law and articled with a leading Alberta firm, where he developed a strong foundation in business and real estate law.

In 2016, Greg and his wife Jessie moved to Victoria to raise their family. He is deeply connected to the community and the region’s business and development landscape. Outside of his practice, Greg is actively involved in coaching youth sports and values the opportunity to contribute to the growth and long-term success of the community his family calls home.
