Craig Crooks* practises in Reed Pope’s Business Law Group, where he advises on a broad range of corporate, commercial, and transactional matters, including:

Mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, risk assessment, and deal structuring
Joint ventures, partnerships, and co-ownership arrangements
Complex commercial agreements
Corporate governance, structuring, and reorganizations
General business and commercial matters

Craig brings a unique combination of legal, business, and engineering expertise to his practice. He began his legal career with a prominent international firm in their Calgary office, where he gained valuable experience in corporate and commercial legal matters. He then transitioned to in-house roles, serving as counsel and commercial lead for both private and public companies, advising on a wide range of legal and commercial matters and negotiating contracts with values up to $800 million. This combination of private practice and in-house experience gives him a practical, business-oriented perspective that allows him to deliver strategic legal advice tailored to his clients’ commercial objectives.

Craig earned his Bachelor of Applied Science in Integrated Engineering with a Minor in Commerce from the University of British Columbia. He spent several years in engineering roles, including managing the execution of multimillion-dollar projects, before attending the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in 2010. Craig’s diverse professional background shaped the client-focused, commercially minded approach he brings to every file.
